Yasir Alsharif
I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Macromolecular Science and Engineering at Virginia Tech, with a focus on Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Carbon Fiber Polymer Composites. My research involves optimizing process parameters, studying the influence of fillers, and conducting rheological characterization. I’m also working on robotic systems for 3D printing high-performance polymer composites, particularly out-of-plane printing.
I have mechanical engineering background, holding a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I also earned a Master’s in Material Science and Engineering, where I researched conductive, stretchable nanocomposites for e-skin applications. Prior to my PhD, I worked as a researcher at SABIC, leading projects on polymer materials applications
