Supreet Thale
Supreet graduated from K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai, India in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. During his undergraduate research, he was involved in designing an automated external wall painting robot for high rise buildings and analyzing the ballistic performance of ceramics for armor applications using explicit dynamics in ANSYS.
A member of the DREAMS lab since the fall of 2021, he is currently pursuing his doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering. Supreet’s research interests includes enabling Multi-material Direct Ink Write Additive Manufacturing (MM-DIW) on the lab’s custom MM-DIW system. He is currently working on understanding the effect of different UV cure strategies on interlayer and interfacial part strength in UV-Assisted Multi-material Direct Ink Write Additive Manufacturing.
Supreet’s work is also in collaboration with Dr. Michael J. Bortner (Virginia Tech) on developing novel printable composites for water remediation using Solvent-Assisted Direct Ink Write AM.
Outside of the lab, enjoys painting, graphic designing, and photography.
